What are we looking for

As an Assistant Controller, you will support the finance team with reporting, analysis and controlling activities in a fast-moving commercial environment.

You will contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and perform sales and margin analyses across product categories, stores and sales channels. You will also support budgeting and forecasting and help explain developments in revenue, costs and margins.

Because of the dynamic nature of retail and FMCG, you will regularly perform ad-hoc analyses related to promotions, seasonal peaks and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
  • Performing sales and margin analyses by product category, store or sales channel
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Identifying variances against budget and analysing revenue and cost developments
  • Contributing to management reporting
  • Performing ad-hoc analyses related to promotions and seasonal trends
  • Working closely with the Business Controller and commercial team

What are we
looking for

We are looking for an analytical and curious finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Economics, Accountancy, Controlling or a related field
  • 0–3 years of relevant work experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Affinity with retail, consumer behaviour or FMCG is a plus
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus
  • Proactive and curious mindset
  • Good command of both Dutch and English
  • Gross monthly salary between €3,000 and €3,800, based on a 40-hour working week and depending on experience
  • 25–27 annual leave days
