the role

What are we looking for

As a GL Accountant, you are responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger within a complex manufacturing environment.

You will support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and prepare and post journal entries, accruals and provisions, including inventory- and production-related entries.

You will also perform balance sheet analyses and reconciliations and ensure that financial data is accurate, complete and recorded on time in accordance with internal and international accounting standards.

In addition, you will support internal and external audits and contribute to improving processes within the General Ledger environment.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and monitoring the general ledger
  • Performing monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
  • Preparing and posting journal entries, accruals and provisions
  • Processing inventory- and production-related accounting entries
  • Performing balance sheet analyses and reconciliations
  • Ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial data
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements within General Ledger
  • Working closely with international finance teams, production plants and shared service centres

What are we
looking for

We are looking for an accurate and structured finance professional who is comfortable working within an international industrial organisation.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Business Economics or a related field
  • At least 2–5 years of relevant experience as a GL Accountant or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS is a plus
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Workday
  • Preferably experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Accurate, structured and able to work effectively with deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in an international environment
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English
  • Gross monthly salary between €3,800 and €5,200, depending on experience
  • 26–28 annual leave days
